Starting your own Business

The Timmins Economic Development Corporation provides free assistance to entrepreneurs to help them start or grow a business.  As a non-profit organization with an economic development mandate, our goal is to assist your firm to succeed.

 Our services include:

  • Online registration of a business name to obtain a Master Business License;
  • Online registration to obtain a Business Number for the following accounts: 1) Goods and Services Tax (GST), importing and exporting, payroll deductions and corporate income tax; 
  • Review and assistance with business plan development;
  • Assistance in determining potential financing and grant program options to start or expand a business.  We also assist clients with completing funding and financing applications; 
  • Provide information on the local and regional economy; and
  • Provide business information on various topics including taxation, business structures, marketing, regulations and more.
