President's Message
The Timmins Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) is a non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors that is comprised of elected officials, private sector business people and community leaders. We work with local businesses and companies from outside our community to generate economic growth and prosperity within the City of Timmins. We also promote the city as an ideal location for business development, as well as an excellent place to live.
Our organization is divided into two distinct operating verticals. The Business Development and Retention team strives to be an effective agent in the attraction, development and retention of businesses, which contribute to the economic, social and general well being of the community. The Community Economic Development team liaises with organizations, non-profits, officials, and citizens to help coordinate, initiate and develop and/or manage community infrastructure projects that will benefit or make the city more attractive to potential residents and investors.
A number of exciting projects have been developed over the last few years and we will continue to bring new projects and investments to our community. Our organization and team members are always evolving to meet the needs of our business community. Today's economic success is not only dependant on natural resources but on a community's excellence in human resources. Ideas and entrepreneurship are more than ever, the keys to better income and a higher quality of life. We believe that there are many untapped opportunities in our municipality and we want to ensure that entrepreneurs have access to the information they require to invest in Timmins.
