The Timmins Economic Development Corporation is seeking a Temporary Employer Council Coordinator

(December 2011 to June 1, 2012)

The Employer Council Coordinator is to build on the existing framework of the timminsimmigration.ca website and the local immigration partnership to develop an Employer Ambassador Program to engage employers and key stakeholders proactively and strategically in the integration of immigrants into the labour market.   The coordinator will work directly with the Employer Council to develop tools, resources and information that will assist employers attract, hire and retain immigrants. The coordinator will work with employers to establish how the immigrationtimmins.ca website can better work to assist employers in meeting their labour demands by targeting internationally trained professionals.

Key activities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Research and develop an Employer Council for Timmins in conjunction with the Timmins Local Immigration Partnership (TLIP) and key stakeholders.
• Engage and convene regular meetings with employers, partners, government and key stakeholders.
• Research and develop a formal Terms of Reference
• Identify gaps, training and recruitment opportunities.
• Develop a work plan with the Employer's Council to establish strategies to attracting and retaining immigrants and to sustain the employer's council.
• Conduct an on-going analysis of the website content and identify gaps that need to be addressed.
• Coordinate, initiate and develop the Immigration website as a welcoming and inclusive site for the attraction and retention of immigrants and newcomers
• Research, compile, develop and integrate employer profiles onto the website.
• Develop content specifically on the website to enhance the employer tools section and local immigration partnership section.
• Research opportunities for recruitment, develop a work plan and funding to target these opportunities.
• Develop and implement a marketing plan for employers.
• Attend training and conferences to promote immigrationtimmins.ca.
• Ensure all material is translated accordingly
• Utilize the maximizer database to log activities.
• Update the MIIO intranet site as needed.
• Train staff on the use of the MIIO intranet and the immigrationtimmins.ca website.
• Develop a final report for the project.
• Other duties as assigned.

Criteria/ Skills
• A diploma in Business Administration/Marketing, Economic Development or similar;.
• Experience working with projects.
• Experience with web based programs and photo shop software.
• Bilingualism is preferred.
