TEDC launches the new Web site

A destination for new investment, a centre for business growth and entrepreneurship, and a global workforce, consider Timmins as the place to be, as supported by the new TEDC online presence.  The Timmins Economic Development Corporation launched its redesigned Web site today:  www.timminsedc.com

In addition to the new look, the Web site's content is now more comprehensive. Visitors can navigate through pages categorized under living, business climate, about us, projects and newsroom and it includes a link for newcomers that take visitors to the TEDC's immigration portal (www.immigrationtimmins.ca).

Cheryl St. Amour, TEDC Acting CEO says "the updated web site is a great tool for anyone wanting to find out information on the TEDC and the services it offers and to get a complete overview of the city and its economy."

The living category has information on history, geography, lifestyle, education, parks and recreation and other aspects of the city. Under business climate, visitors can learn how to start their own business or find information on available business programs. There is also an extensive section on the current state of the economy where up to date content gives an overview of sectors such as mining, forestry, health and education.

Mayor Tom Laughren states "the content reflects the importance of Timmins and how beneficial it is to all residents and prospective residents thinking of relocating here or investing here."

The Web site was designed by eSolutionsGroup based in Waterloo and Ottawa, ON and Fredericton, NB.

"We are honoured to have been part of a project that will help Timmins grow its economic base and support the TEDC's on-line communication needs in multiple languages," said Karen Mayfield, Managing Principle for eSolutionns Group.  "It was a pleasure to work as part of an effective team to deliver the latest Social Media and Web-based technologies to benefit the TEDC, local businesses and those businesses and new workers to come."

Dave McGirr, chair of the TEDC board of directors, said the revamped Web site was a worthwhile project to undertake.

"Well worth the effort, the info is current and detailed, and is a great tool for residents, business people and anyone else looking for more information on the city and its economy."
