Timmins was selected as one of 11 communities across Canada to participate in RNIP. The Timmins pilot is spearheaded by the Timmins Economic Development Corporation and the numerous partners involved in the Timmins Employer Council. Step 1: Make sure you meet the IRCC Federal Eligibility Requirements.
Step 2: Applicants must secure full-time permanent employment in Timmins in one of the eligible sectors or occupations listed below. Visit jobsintimmins.com to find a position that meets your skills, experience and education. Applicants must provide the RNIP Offer of Employment Form signed by the employer to proceed to the next steps.

High skill level occupations such as engineers, veterinarians, chefs, and cooks are examples of jobs being considered under the Open NOC.

The following jobs are EXCLUDED and NOT ELIGIBLE: (6421) Retail salespersons, (6511) Hosts/hostesses, (6512) Bartenders, (6513) Food and beverage servers, (6611) Cashiers, (6622) Store shelf stockers, clerks and order fillers, (6711) Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations.
Step 3: Once you’ve been deemed eligible based on steps 1 and 2, the TEDC will prioritize applicants who are most likely to settle and reside in Timmins for the long-term and contribute to the local economy. Only the highest scoring candidates will be further assessed for recommendation. Check to see if you match with the Community Requirements below:
* Important: Reference letter should state the nature and length of the relationship and be signed by the community member identified as your connection to the community. Applicants may not submit more than 1 letter of reference with their application.
**Please note that candidates may be requested to participate in a formal interview to further assess these criteria
Step 4: Ready to apply? Completed applications must be submitted in one (1) single email to RNIP@timmins.ca. Upon submission of a complete application, a $100 nonrefundable processing fee will be charged and payable to the Timmins Economic Development Corporation. Payment details will be provided by email. Completed applications will be reviewed by the Steering Committee on a monthly basis. Applicants meeting the eligibility and community recommendation requirements listed above in steps 1, 2, 3 and 4, and with the highest score will receive a formal community recommendation. Applications not issued a formal recommendation will be retained for 3 months.
Once you receive a formal community recommendation from the TEDC, it will be valid for a period of 6 months and must be used and submitted to IRCC’s Permanent Residence application process. If the community recommendation expires, and if you wish to reapply, you will be required to resubmit your full application and to pay an additional $100 processing fee.

Step 5: Once you’ve received your permanent residence from IRCC, you will be asked to communicate with the Timmins Economic Development Corporation share details and timelines to relocate to Timmins. Local personnel will arrange to welcome you once you’ve arrived in Timmins and assist in community integration activities upon arrival in Timmins.
All Timmins employers are eligible pending they satisfy the requirements listed below. Employers must be approved by TEDC prior to issuing an Offer of Employment Form to prospective RNIP candidates. Employers may contact the TEDC to be approved either in advance of hiring a foreign national or when they find a foreign national they wish to hire.
