The Timmins and District Multicultural Centre supports newcomers in Temiskaming Shores, Earlton, Englehart, Matachewan, Kirkland Lake, Black River-Matheson, Iroquois Falls, Cochrane, Kapuskasing and Hearst. Practical assistance is provided to newcomers to assist in overcoming the challenges of everyday life with services that include needs assessments and referrals, consumer and community information, and assistance completing government forms. We also provide assistance with: Health card, driver’s license, schools, housing, job search, immigration and citizenship application, medical services, Canadian law, and translations (for a small fee).
As part of the activities carried out by the TDMC, there will be opportunities for newcomers in the Timmins and Kirkland Lake areas to advance their French and English-language skills. Registration is currently ongoing at the TDMC for individuals interested in either English or French as a Second Language (ESL / FSL).
